MetaQuotes is rolling out MetaTrader 5 build 5120 via its Live Update system, introducing a range of technical improvements to the platform, MQL5 programming tools, and AI support inside MetaEditor.
While this isn’t a major redesign, the build packs solid updates that matter to algorithmic traders and developers using MT5 across macOS, Linux, and Windows.
Terminal Enhancements:
- Selective updates: The MQL5 Standard Library now updates only modified files — speeding up update cycles and preserving custom files.
- UI consistency: Full-screen mode now resets on restart, ensuring clean interface loading on launch.
MQL5 Improvements:
- Enabled passing of arrays with signed/unsigned typecasting in functions like ArraySwap, WebRequest, CryptEncode, and more.
- Fixed issues in ArrayInitialize for enum arrays and improved retrieval of key states via TerminalInfoInteger.
MetaEditor:
- AI Assistant now supports GPT-4.1 and lightweight 04-mini models.
- Stricter file status verification in MQL5 Storage, reducing false alerts on unchanged files.
- Updated UI translations across the board.
While mostly under-the-hood, these changes contribute to a more stable, developer-friendly MT5 — with faster updates, smarter AI tools, and cleaner platform behavior across OS types.
