MetaTrader 5 Makes a Comeback: Blue Guardian & Maven Go Offshore to Bring Back the Platform Traders Crave

Two more prop firms just went broker-mode. Blue Guardian and Maven have officially launched their own CFD brokerages in Saint Lucia, marking a strategic play to regain control over their platform offerings—most notably, the highly demanded MetaTrader 5.

After more than a year in exile due to MetaQuotes’ crackdown on unlicensed platform use, MT5 is back in the hands of traders—thanks to some clever jurisdiction-hopping. Both firms confirmed the launch of their licensed entities on the Caribbean island, with Blue Guardian Limited (Reg. No. 2024-00647) and Maven Trade Ltd (Reg. No. 2025-00242) now acting as the bridge between prop trading and full brokerage services.

“We brought MetaTrader 5 back with our own license and server,” announced Blue Guardian on X.
“MetaTrader 5 is back at Maven and it’s fully licensed,” echoed Maven on X.

This move follows the 2024 MetaQuotes purge, which pushed many prop firms to abandon MT4/MT5 or scramble for alternatives like DXtrade. But for traders, MetaTrader remains the gold standard—and prop firms are clearly listening.

Why Saint Lucia?

Because it’s cheap, fast, and offshore. The Caribbean nation has quickly become the go-to zone for prop firms seeking broker licenses, offering the freedom to reconnect with MetaQuotes without the regulatory headaches of stricter jurisdictions. Goat Funded Trader, Wall Street Funded, and Instant Funding have all made similar moves, and even East Africa’s Comoros is joining the race, with Hola Prime and FundingPips registering entities there.

What’s Next?

Expect more prop firms to follow. The MT5 comeback isn’t just a nostalgia trip—it’s about retaining trader loyalty and offering trusted infrastructure. But the real story might be this: as prop firms evolve into brokerages, the line between the two models is getting very blurry.
